After Thursday’s first round of the Memorial Tournament, the field is looking up at Ben Griffin ($7,800; 65 FPTS), who shot a -7 (65).
The round started off well with a birdie on the first hole. He racked up two more birdies and an eagle to close out the front nine. The back nine was a different story, as Griffin bogeyed two of the first three holes, but he recovered with four birdies, which included a three-birdie streak on Holes 16, 17 and 18.
Griffin has played 94 PGA TOUR events. He’s made the cut in 66 with one win and 15 top-10 finishes.
In the $800K Summer Sand Trap tournament, Griffin is rostered on only 6.92% of teams.
DraftKings Sportsbook has Griffin at +500 to win it all, the third-lowest odds. He’s -340 to finish Top 10.
The most rostered golfer is Scottie Scheffler ($13,300; 19.5 FPTS) at a whopping 42.24%. The next-highest is Collin Morikawa ($9,900; 43 FPTS) at 22.15%.
Scheffler had a fairly uneventful day. He had two birdies sandwiched around a bogey on the front nine. On the back nine, it was the same result, but in a different order with the bogey coming first followed by two birdies. Scheffler finished the day -2 (70) and is five strokes off the lead.
He is the current favorite to win it all at +240 and is -750 to finish top 10.
Morikawa racked up three birdies on the front nine. After notching a birdie on the first hole of the back nine, he had two birdies sandwiched around a bogey. He finished the day -5 (67), is two strokes off the lead and in second place.
Morikawa is +400 to win it all, the second-lowest odds. He’s -400 to finish top 10.

Daniel Berger ($8,600; 2.5 FPTS) is rostered on 11.92% of teams. It was a rough, rough day for Berger. The day started off with three bogeys on the front nine. It got worse! After a double-bogey on the first hole of the back nine, he had two bogeys sandwiched around a bogey before racking up another double-bogey. It still wasn’t done, though! To cap off the day, he bogeyed the last hole. He finished +9 (81), is currently in last place and has an 8% chance of making the cut.
Justin Thomas ($10,100; 3 FPTS) is rostered on 11.58% of teams. Thomas wasn’t as bad as Berger, but barely. He finished the round +8 (80), but Data Golf gives him a 22.3% chance of making the cut. On the front nine, Thomas had two bogeys and a double-bogey. On the back nine, he replicated the feat but added a birdie on Hole 15.
Aaron Rai ($7,600; 8.5 FPTS) is rostered on 13.54% of teams. On the front nine, Rai had two double-bogeys bookending two birdies and a bogey. On the back nine, he notched another two more double-bogeys with a birdie and a bogey. He finished Thursday +7 (79), but has a 31.9% chance of making the cut.
