49ers WR Ricky Pearsall is coming off a frustrating rookie season in which he only played 11 games, recording 400 receiving yards and three touchdowns.
His sophomore year is now off to a rough start. On Thursday, head coach Kyle Shanahan announced that Pearsall is dealing with a tweaked hamstring and will likely not rejoin practicing with the team until training camp.
It’s a big blow for Pearsall after he missed the early portion of last season due to an incident where he was shot after attempting to be robbed. He returned later in the season for those 11 games, but it would’ve been crucial for him to have an entire season working in this offense.
Luckily he will still be back for training camp this year, and will hopefully be ready to hit the ground running for the regular season. Pearsall is expected to be a huge piece of this offense next season, especially with Deebo Samuel getting traded to the Commanders a few months ago. Pearsall, Aiyuk and Jennings will be the three-headed monster at receiver for Brock Purdy as the 49ers look to have a bounce-back season.
On DraftKings Sportsbook, the 49ers are +150 favorites to win the division, +1000 to win the NFC and +2000 to be named Super Bowl champions.
