Steven Kwan was removed from this afternoon’s tilt against the Dodgers in the top of the fourth inning due to right wrist inflammation. Nolan Jones replaced Kwan in the Guardians’ outfield.
It might go without saying, but Cleveland losing Kwan for any extended period of time would be a massive blow for a roster that doesn’t have a ton of offensive fire power. Kwan is in the midst of another fantastic season for the Guardians in 2025, coming into Wednesday’s action slashing .314/.374/.429 with a 134 wRC+. Simply put, Kwan is one of the league’s premiere contact hitters, as evidenced by a 9.5% strikeout rate that is the fourth-lowest qualified mark in MLB. The former All-Star’s 92.3% contact rate is also the third-highest figure in baseball, trailing only Luis Arraez and Jacob Wilson.
