NBA DFS Picks: Top Captain Plays for Pacers vs. Knicks Game 4

The Pacers are hosting the Knicks for Game 4 of the Eastern Conference Finals on Tuesday. DraftKings is offering some huge Showdown contests for this Game 4 and below, I dive into two of my favorite captain plays for this Showdown slate.

C, Karl-Anthony Towns, New York Knicks at Indiana Pacers, $15,900 CPT

Towns has been the most productive player for the Knicks against the Pacers this season. The center posted 44.25 FPTS in Monday’s Game 3 comeback win for New York and he notably scored 20 of his 24 points in the fourth quarter. Towns is averaging 49.3 FPTS per game in six matchups with Indiana this season and he has eclipsed 40 FPTS in five of these six games. Towns is shooting 54% from the field against the Pacers and this is an appealing matchup for the big man, with Indiana ranking sixth in pace and fifth in points in the paint allowed this season.

Towns is a safe investment for 40+ FPTS in Tuesday’s Game 4 and taking the savings with him at captain instead of paying more for either Jalen Brunson or Tyrese Haliburton is a wise move for roster construction.

SG/SF, Aaron Nesmith, Indiana Pacers vs. New York Knicks, $8,100 CPT

Nesmith’s Showdown salary oddly has dropped $1,400 since Game 3 and he is a core play for this slate that can be rostered at captain if you prefer to save at that spot. The wing is listed as questionable for Game 4 with an ankle injury, but Nesmith should suit up, as he was able to return to Game 3 after suffering the injury. Nesmith has been great for the Pacers this postseason, scoring 30 FPTS in 30 minutes per game. The ex-Celtic is shooting 52% from the field and Nesmith erupted for 42.5 FPTS in Game 1 of this series vs. the Knicks.

The 25-year-old has generated at least 38 FPTS in five of his 13 starts this postseason and Nesmith has a floor around 25 FPTS in Game 4. Rostering him at captain allows you to roster multiple studs in your flex spots and likely will make your lineup different from the crowd.
