The Oklahoma City Thunder beat the Minnesota Timberwolves 114-88 in Game 1 of the Western Conference, but it was a 10-point game after three quarters. Tonight, the Wolves have a chance to get back on track in Game 2 at 8:30 p.m. ET.
Minnesota’s star, Anthony Edwards, has been up and down this postseason and most recently scored 18 points in Thursday’s game against the Thunder. With Edwards being tough to trust lately, here is my favorite prop bet for the Wolves’ second-best player, Randle, against the Thunder tonight.
Julius Randle over 19.5 Points (-105)
After a slow start with the Timberwolves, averaging 18.7 points per game in the regular season, Randle has turned it up a level in the playoffs. He is averaging 24.3 points, 6.1 rebounds, and 5.5 assists per contest. Randle is shooting 52.2 percent from the field and 39.3 percent on three-pointers in the playoffs. Although Randle has nine 20-point games in the postseason, his over/under is still set at 19.5, which you can get at -110 on DraftKings Sportsbook.
Randle has been Minnesota’s most consistent player this postseason and doesn’t seem to be slowing down anytime soon. A big part of his success has been his shooting, as he has hit two-plus threes in six of 11 games this playoffs. Randle has been on fire lately against the Thunder, scoring more than 19.5 points in six of their previous seven matchups.
In Game 1, Randle only attempted 13 field goals, which was his fewest since Game 3 against the Los Angeles Lakers in the first round of the playoffs. He proved in the last game that even when he isn’t getting as many offensive touches, he can still make an elite impact with his efficiency. Getting Randle to score 20 points tonight is a great play considering how great of a postseason he has had. Until he shows any reason to doubt him, it is wise to continue to back Randle in the playoffs.
