NBA Playoff Best Bets: Thunder vs. Timberwolves Best Prop Bets for Game 2

Updated:

By: Alex Hunter

The Western Conference Finals continue Thursday with Game 2 between the Thunder and Timberwolves in Oklahoma City. Currently, the Thunder hold a 1-0 series lead. On DraftKings Sportsbook, the Thunder are favored by 7.5 points for Game 2 and this contest presents a total of 216 points.

Below, I dive into three of my favorite player prop bets for Thursday’s Game 2 between the Thunder and the Timberwolves on DraftKings Sportsbook.

Best Thunder vs. Timberwolves Player Prop Bets on DraftKings Sportsbook

Naz Reid U 1.5 Made Three Pointers (+114)

With Julius Randle flourishing, Reid’s role has decreased as of late. The sixth man for the Timberwolves is only averaging 24 minutes per game in his last four and during this span, Reid has shot 4-of-15 from beyond the arc (27%) and he has only hit multiple three pointers in one of these four games. Following Game 1 on Tuesday, Reid has faced the Thunder twice this season with Randle active and Reid has only hit one of his 12 three point attempts in these two games.

The Timberwolves lost Game 1 by 26 points and Reid was a -21 in the defeat, which ranked second-to-last for Minnesota. The big man should continue to see only around 25 minutes off the bench in Game 2 or possibly less, and Reid is an excellent bet for under 1.5 made three pointers at this +114 price in this terrible road matchup against Oklahoma City. This season, the Thunder’s league-best defense is limiting their opponents to the lowest three point percentage in the league.

Anthony Edwards U 25.5 Points (-125)

Edwards’ struggles against the Thunder continued in Game 1, with the wing posting only 19 points. After this showing, Edwards is averaging 21.4 PPG in his five matchups with Oklahoma City this season and he has fell short of 25.5 in four of these five tilts. Edwards is shooting 37% from the field against the Thunder, which is well under his 47% average for the season.

This is a product of Oklahoma City being by far the best defense in the NBA this season. Their defensive rating in the regular season was the best the league has seen in four years and the Thunder have a plethora of elite defenders to throw at Edwards, most notably Alex Caruso and Cason Wallace. Especially with Game 2 being in Oklahoma City, Edwards exceeding 25.5 points would be an impressive feat Thursday and he is a wise bet for this under.

Alex Caruso O 1.5 Made Three Pointers (+135)

Caruso went 3-for-3 on three pointers in Game 1 vs. the Timberwolves and he has hit 3+ three pointers in two of his three matchups with Minnesota this season. Plus, Caruso is leading the Thunder with 1.9 made three pointers per game this postseason.

The guard is shooting 45.1% from distance and Caruso has surpassed 1.5 made three pointers in nine of his 12 games during these playoffs. Caruso even has a showing of seven made three pointers on his resume this postseason and he is an elite bet for over 1.5 made three pointers at these outstanding +135 odds.
