WATCH: Rangers 1B Jake Burger goes yard twice Wednesday 5/21/25 vs. Yankees

Jake Burger ($3,000) is a beefy first baseman at 6′ and 230 pounds. Over the last two seasons, he clubbed 34 and 29 home runs. In his career, he sports a very respectable .225 ISO. In 138 plate appearances to start this season, though, the ISO is only .148.

On Wednesday, the regression hit in a big way as he hit two home runs in three at-bats. Both were of the solo variety, but one tied the game while the other put the Rangers ahead.

In the top of the fifth inning, Burger took the first three pitches for balls. He then looked at the next two pitches for strikes. On the sixth pitch, he finally took the bat off the shoulder but fouled it off. On the next pitch, he got a hold of an 84 mph cutter and sent it into the left field seats.

In the top of the seventh inning, he swung at an 86 mph first-pitch sinker and sent it into the right field seats for his second of the day.

In the $175K Bat Flip tournament on DraftKings, Burger was not rostered on any lineups.
