2025-26 NFL Passing Yards Leader
Joe Burrow (+550)
Joe Burrow is coming off an incredible year in the Bengals’ offense. Cincinnati inexplicably missed the playoffs last season due to their bad defense and poor luck in bad spots. However, they had the best passing offense in the NFL, led by Joe Burrow. Burrow had the most passing yards in the NFL, with nearly 300 more yards than Jared Goff, who finished second. Burrow threw the ball 53 more times than the person with the second-most attempts, Baker Mayfield. Burrow managed to stay healthy, which is essential. The Bengals also played a lot of close games, which required Burrow to keep throwing the ball to keep the Bengals in contention. So, a lot of circumstances worked in Burrow’s favor to ensure that he threw the most passes and had the most passing yards.
That being said, if Burrow stays healthy, he has a great chance to lead the NFL in passing yards again. The Bengals spent their offseason making sure this amazing offense sticks together. They gave out contract extensions to all of Burrow’s favorite weapons: Ja’Marr Chase, Tee Higgins, and Mike Gesicki. Chase is coming off a historic season where he won the NFL receiving triple crown, and he will be one of the league’s best receivers yet again. This will remain a pass-heavy offense and there weren’t dramatic changes to the defense, meaning Cincinnati will likely need to throw late into games to win once again. Since the start of the 2022-23 NFL season, only Patrick Mahomes is averaging more passing yards per game than Burrow (by 0.6 yards). It’s hard to pass up betting on Burrow to lead the NFL in passing yards again next season at this price.
Dak Prescott (+950)
There are a lot of great quarterbacks in the NFL who will have a chance to top the league lead in passing yards. However, one underrated option is Dak Prescott. Prescott missed most of the 2024-25 season with an injury. However, he is back to 100% and will not only be good for Week 1, but should be good for the entire summer to get ready for next season. The Cowboys have CeeDee Lamb, one of the best receivers in the NFL, leading their wide receiver corps. However, they also got aggressive this offseason and acquired George Pickens to be their WR2. The Cowboys also added to their offensive line by using their first-round pick on Alabama guard Tyler Booker.
The Cowboys have all the tools to be an explosive passing offense. They have an elite WR1, a high-level WR2 and a good offensive line. They even have a solid tight end in Jake Ferguson and some good tertiary receivers like Jalen Tolbert and KaVontae Turpin. Dak Prescott has his flaws, but he is underrated as a passer. He is capable of putting up massive numbers and has done so consistently over the past few years when healthy. Since the start of the 2019-20 season, only Patrick Mahomes and Tom Brady have averaged more passing yards per game than Prescott. With the weapons at his disposal, he will be among the contenders for most passing yards this season. At odds of +950, he has the highest odds of a realistic NFL passing yards leader, making him a solid longshot bet in this category.
