15 games between 30 teams are on tap on Saturday across Major League Baseball. With so much talent taking the field, there’s ample opportunity to place some player props. That includes a few NRFI wagers (No Runs in the First Inning); in the blink of an eye, bettors can cash in. However, figuring out which pitchers thrive early, and which lineups struggle, is key.
Ahead of today’s MLB action, here are two NRFI bets worth placing on DraftKings Sportsbook.
Astros at Rangers NRFI (-120)
The Lone Star Series rolls on with the third of four games between two AL West rivals. For Houston, Ronel Blanco will head to the mound. After enjoying a breakout 2024 campaign, the right-hander has posted a solid 4.04 ERA and 1.16 WHIP. Last weekend, Blanco pitched eight scoreless innings against the Reds, striking out 11 batters. Over his last 18.0 innings against Texas, the 31-year-old has allowed four earned runs (2.00 ERA).
Blanco isn’t the only one entering Saturday’s matchup with some momentum. Injured for most of last season, Tyler Mahle has been dominant for the Rangers in 2025. Over 49.0 innings of work, the hurler has accounted for an American League-leading 1.47 ERA. He’ll face an Astros lineup currently without All-Star slugger Yordan Alvarez (hand). This season, Houston has the highest NRFI rate in baseball (86.36%). It’s not much better for Texas, who haven’t scored in the first during 80.0% of their outings at home. Another pitching duel between these evenly-matched squads feels inevitable tonight.
Twins at Brewers NRFI (-135)
No team in the league is hotter than the Twins, winners of 12 straight games. A group that looked dead in the water mere weeks ago now finds itself in the thick of a crowded American League playoff race. Key to Minnesota’s success is a deep pitching staff, led by Pablo Lopez. The veteran has been his usual reliable self, notching a terrific 2.77 ERA over 39.0 innings of work. He’ll face a Brewers offense that has failed to score a first inning run in 85.0% of their games at home, the second-worst mark in baseball.
The bigger challenge for tonight’s NRFI will be holding a potent Twins offense at bay. However, Minnesota will be without leadoff hitter Byron Buxton (concussion) and shortstop Carlos Correa (concussion). While there are still some lethal bats in this lineup, that’s definitely a blow. In addition, Brewers starter Tobias Myer is usually a strong starter. Over 29 appearances since 2024, he’s put up a 3.41 first inning ERA. That should be enough for Milwaukee to keep the Twins in check to start Saturday’s game.
