The final game of Wednesday’s playoff slate is Game 5 between the Golden State Warriors and the Minnesota Timberwolves. The Wolves host the Warriors at 9:30 p.m. ET in a potential closeout game tonight.
The Warriors will once again be without their best player, Stephen Curry. Golden State will need its best two veterans, Jimmy Butler and Draymond Green, to step up. Here is my favorite prop bet for Green against the Timberwolves tonight.
Draymond Green over 8.5 points
Green isn’t known as a scorer but has excelled in that area against the Timberwolves in this series. He has scored nine or more points in three of four games. You can get Green’s over/under for points on DraftKings Sportsbook right here. In Game 7 against the Houston Rockets, Green delivered a fantastic performance, scoring 16 points, the most he has scored since March 20.
Green has also hit this mark in four of his previous five games and, with Curry out, has been a more willing scorer. A big part of Green’s offensive progression has been his improved three-point shooting. Yes, he is only shooting 30 percent from deep, but he is attempting 2.2 more threes per contest in this series than in the regular season. Green has hit two or more three-pointers in his last five games. The Warriors have won their previous four games, and Green has made two threes.
Throughout the previous few games, Green has attempted multiple threes early in the game, and if he’s on, a good scoring night is likely. Green averaged nine points per game in the regular season this season, his most since the 2017-18 season. Green has found a ton of success scoring the ball against the Timberwolves, as he has scored nine or more points in seven of the last 10 matchups. In the past, Game 5s have been kind to Green, who has scored more than 8.5 points in three of his last five.
