If you ran a poll about what the most exciting play in baseball is, I’m guessing most votes would come back for the home run. A long ball can ignite a crowd and flip an entire game in a single swing. It’s pretty powerful stuff — pun very much intended.
That’s also probably why people love to bet home runs props. In that spirit, here are my top three options to go deep on Wednesday night’s MLB slate.
Top Home Run Props on DraftKings Sportsbook
Wyatt Langford 1+ Home Run (+310)
Obviously some of Antonio Senzatela’s issues are due to Coors Field, yet the RHP has been underwhelming no matter where he’s pitched so far in 2025, possessing a 20th percentile opponent barrel rate (10.9%) and pairing that with a first percentile strikeout rate (10.3%). This should go without saying, but in no world should the former rate ever be larger than the latter rate — it’s almost impressive in its awfulness. On top of that, Senzatela’s surrendered 3.57 home runs per nine to opposing RHBs in eight starts this season. Langford, who is right-handed, should be salivating at the prospect of facing Senzatela on Wednesday evening.
Fernando Tatis Jr. 1+ Home Run (+240)
Shockingly, Tatis is only 1-for-12 (.083) off Kyle Hendricks in their career meetings, but I wouldn’t put too much stock into those stats when it comes to tonight’s matchup. Hendricks is now at the tail end of his MLB tenure, eating innings for what will likely be a last place Angels squad. So far this season, the veteran has pitched to a 27th percentile xERA (4.61) while surrendering an eye-popping 2.45 home runs per nine to opposing RHBs. Meanwhile, Tatis has hit a long ball in three of his last four games and, for 2025 as a whole, the former All-Star sports a .424 expected wOBA. He’s locked in at the moment.
James Wood 1+ Home Run (+475)
While it would be nice if Wood hit fewer ground balls, the sophomore is still in the midst of what appears to be a breakout season in the power department. The 22-year-old is in possession of a 98th percentile hard hit rate (58.3%), a 94th percentile barrel rate (17.4%) and a 94th percentile expected slugging percentage (.575). Wood also sports a .287 ISO when specifically opposed by a right-handed pitcher, which is relevant on Wednesday, as Bryce Elder will take the mound for the Braves. Elder’s conceded 1.89 opponent home runs per nine so far in 2025. Needless to say, he’s struggled to keep the ball in the park.
