The Dallas Cowboys experienced quite the roller coaster last season. Expectations were high heading into the season as the team sought to compete not only to win the NFC East, but to win a Super Bowl. The opening weeks were up-and-down, but once Dak Prescott went down with a season-ending injury, just about all hope was lot. The Cowboys finished the campaign with a 7-10 record, then parted ways with Mike McCarthy over the offseason after allegedly-bungled negotiation process and ensuing coaching search.
Dallas ended up promoting former offensive coordinator Brian Schottenheimer as the franchise’s new head coach. It’s a bit of a puzzling move given the other candidates who were on the market, but regardless of the public’s perception, those in the organization will keep their heads down and work toward the ultimate goal. With a healthy Prescott, highly-graded draft class, and the addition of George Pickens via a recent trade, can the Cowboys make some noise in a loaded division?
