Denver will need Murray at his best to steal this one on the road, and he will need to play much better than he has been. Murray has shot under 50% from the field in all four games of this series. DraftKings Sportsbook lists Murray’s prop lines at 18.5 points, 4.5 rebounds, 5.5 assists, and 2.5 three-pointers. His combined PTS + REB + AST line sits at 29.5.
I will be taking Murray’s over 18.5 points in this spot. As previously stated, he is not shooting the ball well in this series. However, he was much better in the seven-game series against the Clippers, which shows that he can still show up and shoot the lights out on any given night.
Murray is shooting 45.7% from the field in this postseason and averaging 21.7 points per game. On top of that, he is getting the volume. He might not be shooting at the clip he would like in this series, but the veteran guard is still averaging 14.75 shot attempts per game. 18.5 is simply too low of a total with his amount of volume.
Despite shooting under 50% in every game this series, he has gone over this total twice. In the Clippers series, he went over this number in five of the seven games. Murray is due for an emphatic scoring night, and what better time to do it than in Game 5 on the road with the series hanging in the balance?
