Not to go full Justin Timberlake from The Social Network on you, but do you know what’s better than 15 games of baseball in a single day? 16 games of baseball — and that’s exactly what we get on Tuesday thanks to a doubleheader in Washington.
With so much action on the diamond, there’s literally thousands of MLB bets and props on the DraftKings Sportsbook. Here are a couple of my favorites for tonight’s slate.
Texas Rangers at Boston Red Sox
Red Sox ML (+100)
While the Red Sox have not been playing great baseball as of late, coming into tonight’s proceedings having dropped four of their last five games, I’m surprised to see them as a home underdog on Tuesday night. It’s not like the losses count for less, but it’s worth noting that in three of these four recent defeats, Boston was leading by multiple runs going into the seventh inning. Justin Slaten just so happened to have an exceedingly bad week. Seriously, don’t ask any Red Sox fans you know about Slaten right now. They might explode.
Nathan Eovaldi is surely another reason for the Rangers being favored in this spot, as the 35-year-old has pitched to a 2.11 ERA and a 2.31 FIP across his first seven outings of 2025. However, let’s not paint some rose-colored picture of Texas’ season. The Rangers had lost four games in a row before taking down the Mariners on Sunday. Heck, Texas enters this evening’s action having only won three of its past 12 contests. The biggest reason for the overall struggles? The team can’t hit. Over the last 30 days, the Rangers rank 28th in MLB in home runs (20), 26th in wOBA (.290) and 24th in wRC+ (86).
Lucas Giolito pitched well in his first start off the IL. I trust him to do enough to keep Texas’ bats at bay and let the Red Sox’s bats — which sport a 126 wRC+ across the past two weeks — do their thing.
Toronto Blue Jays at Los Angeles Angels
Under 9 (-108)
While I can appreciate having to inflate a total for a game where Jose Urena is getting the starting nod, I’m just not sure who is going to produce all these runs.
It’s not like either one of these lineups has had all that much success lately. Entering play on Tuesday, both the Blue Jays (78) and the Angels (58) sit in the bottom-five in baseball across the past two weeks in wRC+. In fact, if you really want some context for how poorly Los Angeles has hit over the past 14 days, look no further than the team’s league-worst .253 wOBA. That’s worse that the Rockies. You never want to be worse than the Rockies.
Tyler Anderson is another name to keep in mind here. While much of the veteran’s success in 2025 has been the result of amazing luck — look no further than a completely unsustainable .169 BABIP — he does possess a 2.67 ERA and a 3.61 xERA. He’s also yet to allow more than three earned runs in a start this season. Unless regression hits him like an 18-wheeler on Tuesday night, I think the under is an easy side to take in this game.
