After a tough opening series against Detroit, the Knicks are hoping to find some magic in this series against Boston. The defending champions are going to be a tough matchup for New York. The Celtics swept the regular-season series against the Knicks, with three of the four wins coming by double-digits. The Knicks will need to try something new in this series if they want to compete against Boston. Karl-Anthony Towns had some struggles in the Detroit series, so New York needs him to step up if it has any chance in this series. Towns had a couple of great games in the middle of the opening round, showing what this team could look like when Towns is playing well. However, his struggles in Games 2 and 5 were very noticeable in the Knicks’ losses.

The Knicks are likely to employ their big lineup with Towns and Robinson both on the floor together in this series. Robinson can put the real effort in on defense, protecting the rim and getting out on shooters. Then on the other end of the floor, Towns can work more on the perimeter, where he prefers to play. That is why my favorite prop for this game is for Towns to make over 1.5 three-pointers. Towns cleared this number in three of the six games against Detroit in the first round, and in two of the four regular-season games against Boston. When Mitchell Robinson is on the floor, he will be in the paint looking for offensive rebounds, while Towns could get into the pick-and-pop with Brunson. He should get a couple of open looks in this game and get over his three-point prop number.
