In the third inning of Sunday’s game vs. the Mets, SS Masyn Winn tripped rounding third base. He stayed in the game, but eventually left in the fourth inning. Winn is out for the rest of the game with what is being called an ankle sprain.
Winn has just returned from a back issue, so he missed the first game of the double-header due to injury maintenance. Unfortunately, it looks like he now has even more injury problems.
He had one at bat before exiting, scoring a run after a walk. In Friday’s game against New York, he was on fire with three hits in four trips to the plate.
Hopefully for Cardinals fans, this is not a serious ankle sprain and he will be back in the lineup in no time.
