They say April showers bring May flowers, and A’ja Wilson is FINALLY getting her flowers this month with the release of her first signature sneaker from Nike.
Women’s hoops fans and sneakerheads alike have been calling for the Aces star to get her own sneaker for years and now that moment is upon us. Dropping on May 6, Nike says the A’One “Pink A’ura” brings A’ja’s “passion for pink to the court with a gradual ambience that speaks to A’ja’s rare aura.” Nike notes on SNKRS that “a plush foam midsole underfoot provides unapologetic comfort, helping to keep her fresh for putting the team on her back.” Will the A’One give Sabrina Ionescu a run for her money when it comes to signature hoops shoes? Only time will tell, but the hype is real.
Also dropping this month will be the Air Jordan 1 High OG UNC Reimagined on May 10. The spiritual follow up to 2022’s Air Jordan 1 Chicago “Lost and Found,” the UNCs continue the story of a long lost pair finally found, featuring aged elements like “cracked” leather and Sail color blocking, which Nike says combines “to create a classic, worn-in finish.”
