It’s never a good sign when an outfielder trips on the warning track … unless that outfielder is Daulton Varsho.
In that case, it’s a chance to make one of the wildest catches in recent memory. Jarren Duran hit a deep fly ball to center in the top of the fourth of Tuesday’s game. Varsho, the Blue Jays center fielder, tripped on the warning track, tumbled over and caught the ball with his back to the infield.

The bases were empty with one out, so the Blue Jays weren’t in great risk of allowing a run if Varsho didn’t make the catch. That said, Duran is fast enough to hit an inside-the-park if the ball took a bad bounce.
What makes this catch even more impressive is that it was during Varsho’s 2025 debut. He missed the early portion of the season as he recovered from shoulder surgery.
