Weathers faces a Brewers offense that entered Sunday fourth in the league in home runs per game and third in runs per game. After having struggled against left-handed pitchers, such as Weathers, they are getting a home run in more than 5 percent of at-bats against southpaws.
The Brewers also have the upper hand when it comes to relief, entering Sunday with a 3.77 ERA in the bullpen, which ranked 13th. Meanwhile, the Marlins entered 26th with a 4.61 ERA.
With the Brewers’ power numbers against left-handed pitching and Weathers’ recent struggles, the Brewers will take game one of this series.
