The second round of the 2025 NFL Draft begins soon and some prominent names are left on the board. Let’s take a look at the best prospects available for Day Two of the draft.
Colorado QB Shedeur Sanders
Perhaps the story of the draft so far is that Shedeur did not hear his name called on Day One. For a more thorough write-up in his prospect profile, check it out here.
There are still plenty of quarterback-needy teams on the board. Only two signal callers were taken in the first round. It would be even more of a surprise if Sanders isn’t taken in the next 32 picks.
As things currently stand, Sanders comes in as a -185 favorite to be selected by the Las Vegas Raiders, while the Pittsburgh Steelers and Cleveland Browns fall second and third at +225 odds or higher.
Michigan CB Will Johnson
A more surprising draft slide from yesterday, Will Johnson is nervous. It’s fair to wonder if his medical testing was worse than expected. Teams are worried about cornerbacks with pre-existing injuries.
It’s not a question of skill. Johnson has pedigree, size, athleticism, production, and a history of winning. Eventually, the rewards will outweigh the risks, and Johnson will find himself with an NFL home tonight.
South Carolina S Nick Emmanwori
Emmanwori is one of the most incredible athletes in the draft. The 6-foot-3 safety was productive in his final year in South Carolina and was expected to be called in the first round, albeit on the later side. Now, he has to wait another day.
My gut tells me this is more about positional value than Emmanwori himself. Georgia safety Malaki Starks was expected to go in the teens and went 27th overall. Alabama middle linebacker Jihaad Campbell was scheduled in a similar range and was chosen 31st. If you’re a defender who doesn’t play on the line of scrimmage or at cornerback, it’s tough to break into the first round.
