The Eubank vs. Benn rivalry has been renewed! But this time it will be Chris Eubank Jr vs. Conor Benn. Chris Eubank Sr knocked out Nigel Benn in their first bout in 1990. The second fight between the two ended via a split decision draw. Eubank Jr vs. Benn will take place at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London, England, on April 26. This is a 12-round Middleweight bout.
The main card is set to air at 12:00 p.m. ET, with the ringwalks for the main event expected to begin at 5:00 p.m. ET. Here are my two best bets for Saturday’s boxing card headlined by Eubank Jr vs. Benn.
Chris Eubank Jr Moneyline (-185)
As I previously mentioned in my preview, Eubank possesses a larger reach advantage while being the taller fighter, and it will be tough for Benn to overcome. Benn is a phenomenal fighter; he is 23-0 in his boxing career but has never fought at this weight class before. Benn’s previous two contests were at 154 and 150 pounds.
Although both fighters desperately want to win this fight because it is a personal rivalry. The reality is that at this moment, Eubank needs the victory more. He is seven years older than Benn, as he is 35. Eubank Jr has hinted at retiring in the future, and if he can’t get the job done against his biggest rival, the end may be near. Pairing his incredible power with the size advantage, this is Eubank’s fight to lose, even though he will be depleted.
Aaron McKenna Moneyline (-165)
Liam Smith, 36, is making his return to the ring after 19 months away from the sport. Smith’s last fight was a loss against Chris Eubank Jr in September 2023. His previous victory came against Eubank in January 2023. With his career coming to an end soon, he will face the 25-year-old Aaron McKenna in a 12-round middleweight bout.
McKenna is 19-0 with 10 knockouts in his boxing career. The Irish fighters’ last two wins have come by knockout. Smith is a smaller middleweight, while McKenna is much bigger. McKenna is taller (6’1″ vs. 5’9.5″) while having a six-inch larger reach (75″ vs. 69″). This is an excellent position for McKenna to pick up one of the most significant victories of his career. McKenna needs to set the pace of this bout, and if he does, he should be able to slow down the older fighter.
