Pick on the Moneyline for Diamondbacks-Mariners on April 26

The Seattle Mariners enter Friday’s home game against the Arizona Diamondbacks having won each of their past three series at home and will look to make it four.

Arizona Diamondbacks (-135, 7) vs. Seattle Mariners

The start on the mound for Arizona goes to Zac Gallen, who’s been an entirely different pitcher on the road than at home, posting a 4.65 regular season ERA on the road since the start of the 2023 season with 1.3 home runs per nine innings allowed compared to a home ERA of 2.19 with 0.5 home runs per nine innings allowed.

Backing up Gallen is a Diamondbacks bullpen that is 20th with a 4.19 ERA while the Mariners 2.58 ERA in the bullpen ranks third in the league.

Countering for Seattle in the starting pitching matchup is Emerson Hancock, whose ERA is a bloated 6.10, but he has allowed three runs or fewer in three of his four starts and the advanced numbers point towards positive regression.

Hancock’s fielding independent is more than a full point lower than his ERA is at 4.95 with just 1.3 walks per nine innings allowed.

The Mariners’ offense will look to provide Hancock more help than normal as Arizona enters the series second in the league with over 5.7 runs per game scored while the Mariners entered Thursday 24th with just over 3.7 runs per game.

With Gallen’s road struggles and the Mariners entering Friday having scored at least four runs in five of their last seven games, Hancock will get enough support to get the Mariners a win in Friday’s series opener.

The Play: Mariners +114
