With this being Cabrera’s first start of the season and first coming off the injured list, this is likely to knock him out of Monday’s game early and backing him up is a Marlins bullpen that has the third-worst ERA in the league with a 5.88 ERA.
After scoring the fewest runs in the National League Post-All Star Break in 2023, the Giants entered Sunday 19th in the league in runs per game, but generating the majority of their offense away from home.
The Giants play in one of the most pitcher-friendly ballparks, which has caused for a pretty dramatic early season split in their run creation, entering Sunday averaging 2.8 runs per game at home compared to 5.3 runs per game away from home.
On the mound for the start for San Francisco is Kyle Harrison, who owns a 4.35 ERA across 10 MLB starts and issues allowing hard contact, surrendering 2.1 home runs per nine innings.
He gets to face a Marlins offense that entered the weekend averaging the fewest runs per game at 3.5 while hitting the fewest home runs of any team in the National League with 0.7 home runs per game.
With the Marlins scuffling all-around and the Giants producing offense at a high rate on the road, the Giants will open this series with a win on Monday.
