The No. 1 Purdue Boilermakers will take on the No. 1 Connecticut Huskies in the 2024 NCAA Tournament National Championship Game on Monday, April 8. This title game showdown will take place at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, AZ, with tipoff set for 9:20 p.m. ET on TBS.
Purdue (34-4) was able to pull away from No. 11 NC State in a 63-50 victory on Saturday, advancing to the program’s first national championship game since 1969. This was only a seven-point game with 8:04 left before the Boilermakers dropped the hammer, breaking off a 14-1 run to end the Wolfpack’s Cinderella journey. Zach Edey once again stepped up with 20 points, 12 rebounds, and four assists for the Boilers in the win.
UConn (36-3) is on the cusp of a second straight national title and got here by downing Alabama 86-72 on Saturday. The Huskies got a challenge from the Crimson Tide in the first half as they shot around 40% during the period. However, they took control late as an 11-2 run midway through the second half gave them the separation needed to advance to the title game. Stephon Castle led with 21 points and five rebounds in the win.

The line has already moved in favor of UConn and we could see it move again overnight. Don’t be surprised if the line jumps up to as high as UConn -7.5 or -8 on DKSB. Despite pulling away late to cover against Alabama, the Crimson Tide did keep things close. Clingan was the difference and now we get him vs. Edey in the title game. If any player can throw UConn off a bit and have someone to answer Clingan, it’s Edey and Purdue. This should be another close contest late into the second half. We’ll see if Purdue can keep the game close and not let the wheels fall off like Bama. Still, at this line, it’s tough not to back UConn. Get on the Huskies now before the line moves again.
