There’s a lot of baseball on tonight. Like, so much baseball.
All 30 teams are scheduled to be in action and that means almost unlimited betting opportunities on the DraftKings Sportsbook. I’m here to help you narrow down the scope. Here are a couple of my favorite MLB bets on Tuesday evening.
Colorado Rockies at Kansas City Royals
Under 7.5 (+112)
I’m just confused as to who is scoring all these runs?
Without even getting into home/road splits — which are important with any wager involving the Rockies — this tilt features the teams that enter the day ranking 29th and 30th in MLB in wRC+. That’s right. With a mark of 66 as a team, the Royals have somehow been worse at producing runs than Colorado has. That’s a bad omen. Kansas City also happens to sit dead-last in baseball in ISO (.094), while being second-from-the-bottom in wOBA (.263). Meanwhile, the Rockies are slashing .188/.240/.286 with a league-low 48 wRC+ when playing away from Coors in 2025. Woof.
It’s not like this game features a horrible starting pitching matchup, either. Far from it. Kris Bubic is outperforming his xERA by at least a run-and-a-half through four outings, but that’s not that big a deal when your ERA is 1.88 and your FIP is 2.71. Striking out 27 opponents in 24.0 innings of work is always a pretty good way to stave off regression, too. Ryan Feltner isn’t in quite the same class, but he’s solid outside of the altitude. In fact, in 2024, Feltner managed a 3.93 ERA on the road across 84.2 innings.
Milwaukee Brewers at San Francisco Giants
Brewers ML (+114)
While the Giants have been one of 2025’s best success stories through four weeks, I don’t want people sleeping on the Brewers. After losing its first four games of the season in embarrassing fashion — and losing almost every starting pitcher on its staff due to injury — Milwaukee is flying high, coming into Tuesday’s action with 12 wins in its last 19 contests. Much like 2024, the Brewers are thriving when most had left them for dead.
A big aspect of the quick turnaround has been Jose Quintana, who didn’t break Spring Training on the 26-man roster due to signing late in the free agent process. However, the 36-year-old hasn’t taken long to round into form, conceding just a single earned run over his first two starts with Milwaukee. Yes, Quintana’s 4.67 xERA is much different than his 0.71 ERA, but outperforming expected stats is kind of the left-hander’s reputation at this point. While he’s more contact-oriented than I generally like, Quintana owns a 3.31 ERA going all the way back to the beginning of 2022. At a certain point, you just have to accept his skills.
The other half of this pitching matchup is Jordan Hicks. The right-hander is essentially the inverse of Quintana, in that the stuff has always passed the eye test, yet the results have tended to be underwhelming. Hicks is continuing his attempt to transition back to a full-time starter at the MLB level, yet things have not gone all that smoothly in his time with the Giants. Specific to 2025, Hicks possesses a 6.04 ERA and he’s surrendered 12 earned runs in his last two outings combined. That’s also a span where Hicks has almost walked as many opponents (7) as he’s struck out (8). That’s not the kind of starter I back as a favorite on the moneyline. Let’s zag.
