After a few matinee games to serve as appetizers on Wednesday, Major League Baseball has a nice main course of 10 games on the main slate on DraftKings, which gets underway at 6:35 p.m. ET in order to include the five games that start just before 7:00 p.m. ET. With 20 teams in the player pool, lots of different options are available as you build your winning MLB DFS roster. Let’s take a look at the matchups for this Wednesday and find come top matchups to attack for MLB stacks.
In case you’re new to the term, “stacking” is an MLB DFS strategy that creates a positive correlation in your lineup by including multiple players from the same team. Ideally, the best stacks include players from the same section of the lineup, so they can work together to boost each other’s run production. While stacking raises the risk of your lineup, the added ceiling is worth the added risk, especially if you pinpoint the right matchup to attack. Here are the three matchups I like the most for MLB stacks on Wednesday.

1. Los Angeles Dodgers
Shohei Ohtani ($6,500)
Mookie Betts ($6,300)

The Dodgers aren’t a sneaky stack or one to find low ownership on, but they do bring a very high ceiling in the late game as they look to close out a sweep of the hapless Rockies. They scored only five runs in their three-game set against the Cubs last weekend but bounced back with 11 runs in the two games against Colorado.
Ohtani homered in the first game of the series and stole base in the second game, producing 24 and 11 fantasy points. Betts also had a big game with 25 fantasy points on Monday while Will Smith has three straight multi-hit games and went off for 21 fantasy points while doing the heavy lifting on Tuesday night.
On Wednesday, the Dodgers face German Marquez ($5,500), who has a 4.60 ERA and 1.47 WHIP through his first three starts of the season. Max Muncy has feasted against Marquez in the past, going 7-for-32 with four home runs in their past meetings. Betts has also homered while hitting .318 in his 22 at-bats against him in the past.
2. Los Angeles Angels

Stacking agianst Patrick Corbin ($6,200) is a tradition that has been very profitable over the past several seasons as the veteran southpaw has struggled. Last season in Washington, he went 6-13 with a 5.62 ERA and 4.41 FIP, allowing right-handed hitters to post a .374 wOBA against him. This season, he gave up five hits and three runs (including a home run to a right-handed hitter) in four innings against the Cubs.
The top four in the Halos’ batting order are a strong stack to consider. I highlighted Ward and Rengifo in my top targets for the day and adding in the power potential of Trout and Soler right behind them could set you up for a landslide of success (which is the whole idea of MLB stacks). Ward, Soler and Trout have each averaged over nine fantasy points per game over their last 10 games. J.D. Davis is a sneaky bargain play to round out the stack since he is 11-for-40 with three doubles and four homers against Corbin in the past.
3. Washington Nationals

If you are looking for a sneaky stack that brings good potential value, check out the Nats against the Pirates on Wednesday night. They’ll take on lefty Bailey Falter ($6,700), who has allowed 14 runs on 17 hits and six walks in 15 innings over his first three starts of the year. In his very small sample size, Falter has been hammered by lefties, giving up a pair of home runs and a .540 wOBA to the 17 lefties he has faced this season.
James Wood is locked in at the plate right now, and since Falter definitely isn’t shutting down lefties, he can still be a good option even though it’s a lefty-lefty matchup. With CJ Abrams (hip) out for this week, it opens up nice fantasy value potential from Call, who moves to the leadoff spot, and Nunez, who is looking to build on a strong spring training. So far this season, Call is hitting .324 and now moves right in front of Wood and the meat of the order.
Nunez went 13-for-31 (.419) in spring training with seven stolen bases in 35 plate appearances, and he has gone 4-for-7 (.571) with a stolen base since the Nationals recalled him to take Abrams’ roster spot. Nunez has hit eighth and ninth in his two games, so he actually sets up a back door stack hitting just ahead of Call and Wood when the order flips.
