One week after the Masters, the PGA TOUR heads to Hilton Head, South Carolina for the RBC Heritage. Harbour Town Golf Links will host this Signature Event, and measures as a 7,213-yard par 71 with Poa Trivialis overseeded greens.
We have a limited field event this week which will feature 72 golfers and no cut World No. 1 Scottie Scheffler is currently the betting favorite on DraftKings Sportsbook at +360, while Collin Morikawa (+1100), Ludvig Aberg (+1200) and Xander Schauffele (+1200) round out the top of the board this week.
Below I have outlined my two favorite bets for the week.
Jordan Spieth to win (+4000)
Spieth put together a very solid Masters performance last week, posting a T14 thanks to a bogey-free round of 70 on Sunday. The three-time major champ gained 5.4 strokes putting for the week at Augusta, and has now gained five or more strokes with the flat stick in three of his past five starts. Spieth’s iron-play had previously been red-hot before the Masters, so it appears as if his game is close to coming together.
That is good news as we head to Harbour Town, because it’s one of Spieth’s favorite courses on the PGA TOUR. He won this event back in 2022, and then followed that up with a T2 the following year. He also posted a T11 back in 2015 at his debut in Hilton Head, so it’s clear he knows how to get around this place. From a holistic point of view it makes sense, as we know Harbour Town is a short, positional golf course that downplays driving, which has always been Spieth’s biggest weakness.
He’s flashed a high ceiling so far in 2025, finishing T4 at the Waste Management, T9 at the Cognizant and then T12 two weeks ago at Valero. Spieth is usually too short to bet in these types of fields, but we are getting 40/1 on him this week, making this almost a no-brainer at a course that suits his game to a T.
Tom Hoge to win (+9000)
Hoge is someone you want to back when he’s in the midst of one of his white-hot iron-play streaks, and we are currently right in the eye of that storm. The 35-year-old just gained a whopping 6.92 strokes on approach at the Masters, which propelled him to a career-best T14 finish and ranked him fourth in the field behind only Rory McIlroy, Justin Rose and Hideki Matsuyama.
Prior to Augusta, Hoge gained 2.6 strokes with his irons at the Valero and 9.9 the start before that at THE PLAYERS. Harbour Town features some of the smallest greens on the PGA TOUR, and it’s been proven year-over-year that elite iron play is the most sticky trait among winners of this event. Hoge has actually not played great here in the past, missing the cut four times in seven starts, but he does have a pair of top-25s as well, including a T18 last year.
Some of Hoge’s best performances across his career have come at short, positional golf courses like Harbour Town. He won at Pebble Beach back in 2022, while posting top-five finishes at Waialae, TPC River Highlands and Sea Island. The other good news is that Hoge cannot miss the cut this week, because there is no cut. That matters because we have seen him shoot incredibly low rounds before, and all it takes to stay in contention at an event like this is one of those over the course of four days.
With the way he’s striping it right now, getting 90/1 on Hoge is an easy click in a small field like this.
