Few batters in baseball are stuffing the stat sheet the way Fernando Tatis Jr. is right now.
The 26-year-old right fielder has racked up five stolen bases and a pair of homers in the young season to go with his .381/.449/.548 triple slash line. Last night in Sacramento was his sixth multi-hit performance in the first 11 contests of the season. His scorching hot hitting has been one of the keys to San Diego’s early success.
On the other side of things, Athletics starter Jeffrey Springs is looking to establish his health and get his major league career back on track. Will he be able to neutralize the Padres’ slugger? Or will Fernando have these A’s shaking their heads again?
On DraftKings Sportsbook, San Diego is the road favorite at -130, and the run total is set at eight. Below, I’ve highlighted my favorite Fernando Tatis Jr. prop bets for this contest.
Best Fernando Tatis Jr. Prop Bets on DraftKings Sportsbook
2+ Hits Recorded (+195) and Over 0.5 Stolen Bases (+450)
As previously mentioned, six multi-hit games in 11 total contests. That is some absurd production.
Yes, Tatis has yet to face Springs in his major league career, but I’m not worried about this. Sometimes you’re just swinging too sweet of a stick. Tatis is off to one of those starts so far. On top of that, this new Athletics home park is playing rather small.
I am also hammering him to swipe a bag tonight. He’s looking motivated as a base stealer to begin the year, going five-for-five in the young season. Tatis is poised to shatter last year’s mark of 11 swipes at this rate. Shea Langeliers, the Athletics catcher, is not particularly adept at preventing steals this year. The slugging backstop is only in the 4th percentile of steal prevention to date.
It should be a busy night for El Niño at the plate and on the basepaths. Sit back and enjoy the show.
