Saturday is another glorious day for fantasy baseball with all 30 teams in action. The MLB DFS contests on DraftKings are split into two slates. There are seven games on the afternoon slate, which begins at 2:10 p.m. ET, and seven games on the evening slate, which starts at 7:05 p.m. ET. In this post, we’ll focus on MLB DFS picks for the evening slate which has the largest contests on the board.
There are some excellent pitching matchups on the board this Saturday night since we’re back near the top of several teams’ rotations. Even with strong arms to choose from, though, there are also some top MLB DFS picks available at the plate. Let’s dive into this 14-team player pool and take a look at my top MLB DFS picks for Saturday night’s slate.

PITCHER

Brady Singer, Cincinnati Reds at Milwaukee Brewers, $8,100: While the top four starting pitchers all square off against one other, paying a little less for Singer makes sense as he goes against Elvin Rodriguez ($6,100) and should have a good shot at a win if he can build on his strong start.
The Reds acquired Singer in exchange for Jonathan India this offseason, and in his Reds’ debut, he impressed with seven shutout innings against the Rangers, allowing just one hit and striking out eight on his way to 34 DraftKings fantasy points.

Throughout his time with the Royals, Singer showed a high ceiling but also struggled to find consistency. He did have a solid 3.71 ERA over 179 2/3 innings last year but was even better with a 2.55 ERA and 3.62 FIP with 21 strikeouts in 17 2/3 innings in spring training.
In the early going, the Brewers rank in the top-10 in K% and the bottom-10 in the MLB in team average, team wOBA and runs per game. Going up against them, Singer gets the top spot in my MLB DFS picks, saving some salary while still bringing a high ceiling.

AJ Smith-Shawver, Atlanta Braves vs. Miami Marlins, $7,800: The Braves finally got their first win of the season on Friday, and they’re the heaviest favorites on Saturday night’s slate as they send Smith-Shawver to the mound against Cal Quantrill ($7,200) and the Marlins.
Smith-Shawver earned his spot in the rotation after an excellent spring training in which he gave up seven runs in 16 innings, but also piled up 20 strikeouts. In his first start of the season, he went four innings against the Padres and gave up two runs on six hits and three walks. He still had four strikeouts, though, and finished with 7.6 DraftKings fantasy points.
He’ll be in a much better matchup against the Marlins, who have a 24.8% K% that ranks 11th in the MLB this season. As a team, they’re hitting .231 and have scored 29 runs in their eight games (3.6 runs per game.)
Smith-Shawver showed even more upside and potential with 104 strikeouts in 87 innings in Triple-A last year. He will look to realize that potential against the Marlins on Saturday night.
INFIELD

Jose Ramirez, Cleveland Guardians at Los Angeles Angels, $5,900: Ramirez smashed three home runs in Friday night’s win against the Angels, totaling a huge 46 DraftKings fantasy points. He has multiple hits in three of his last four games, going eight-for-15 (.533) with two walks over those four games. The switch-hitter will bat lefty against righty Jack Kochanowicz ($6,300) on Saturday night, and last season he hit 25 of his 39 homers on that side of the split with a .336 wOBA and 121 wRC+. All three of his home runs on Friday also came on that side of the plate.

Jorge Polanco, Seattle Mariners at San Francisco Giants, $3,800: Polanco is another switch-hitting infielder off to a good start this season. While he missed three games on the paternity list, he returned in strong form on Friday, going three-for-five with his second homer of the season and four RBI for 28 fantasy points. Polanco is nine-for-20 (.450) in the early going and has averaged 12.6 fantasy points in his first five games. He will be on the strong side of his splits from last season against lefty Robbie Ray ($8,800) and the Giants on Saturday.

Jacob Wilson, Athletics at Colorado Rockies, $3,500: Coors Field is in play on Saturday night’s slate and the matchup between the A’s and the Rockies has the highest over/under on the slate. Wilson is off to a great start this year for the Athletics, going 11-for-29 with a double, two home runs and a .431 wOBA. He flashed improved power with four homers and a .375 wOBA in spring training, and the top prospect looks ready to continue to deliver on that potential heading into the regular season as well. He and the A’s have a good matchup against German Marquez ($6,600).
OUTFIELD

Brent Rooker, Athletics at Colorado Rockies, $6,100: In his eight games this season, Rooker is eight-for-35 (.229) with three home runs, seven RBI, and an average of 8.9 fantasy points per game. He has looked ready to continue his outstanding production from the last few years with a 47.8% hard-hit rate and a 17.4% barrel-rate, per Statcast. He and Wilson are the starting point for a solid Athletics stack in Denver, especially since Marquez has been much more hittable by righties than lefties over the last few seasons.

Michael Harris II, Atlanta Braves vs. Miami Marlins, $3,700: While they wait for Ronald Acuna Jr. (knee) to return, Harris has filled in at the leadoff spot for the Braves against righties like Quantrill since the suspension of Jurickson Profar. Harris picked up three hits and 15 fantasy points in the Braves’ win on Friday, and he’s a great value play with a high ceiling against Quantrill if you think the Braves are set to make it two in a row. Harris has good power and speed potential, giving him a high ceiling in the leadoff spot.

Kyren Paris, Los Angeles Angels vs. Cleveland Guardians, $2,200: Paris can also slide to 2B to help your roster construction if necessary and has made a positive impact when given a chance this season. Paris went two-for-two with 10 fantasy points on Friday night and is six-for-11 (.545) with a triple, a home run, three stolen bases and an average of 11.5 fantasy points per game. With Luis Rengifo ($4,400; hamstring) battling injury, Paris could have a path to playing time at 2B and be a great value with good upside on Saturday night despite a tough matchup with Tanner Bibee ($8,200) and the Guardians.
