The NASCAR Cup Series Cook Out 400 at Martinsville is on Sunday and DraftKings is offering a new way to play fantasy NASCAR. The game is simple. Ryan Blaney: Fantasy Points – 68.5

All eyes are on Blaney. The defending race winner is starting 32nd. His place differential potential will make him the most popular fantasy NASCAR pick for Martinsville. He’s safe for 65 fantasy points, but 68.5 isn’t guaranteed. Nothing is. It’s racing. A lot can go wrong driving through the field. A lot can go wrong driving through the field on the softest set of tires in NASCAR history. A lot has gone wrong for Blaney every Sunday. Blaney’s car isn’t a 32nd-place car, but he doesn’t love his car.
Another factor that will be overlooked is pit road. Sunday is going to be a grind. Martinsville has the tightest pit road on the circuit. Blaney has one of the worst stalls and will be pitting alongside the squirrels. Pit road gains—the best way to gain spots in the Gen-7 car—will be limited.
Denny Hamlin: Finishing Position – 4.5
Pick6 Play: Better
James Dennis Alan Hamlin was in Ryan Blaney’s position last fall. He drove from the back to the front in one stage. He made gains on pit road, but most of the positions he gained were on the track. This isn’t surprising for the Virginian driver. He grew up on short tracks, and Martinsville has always been one of his tracks. He’s one of the best at “The Paperclip.”
A podium doesn’t come easy. It’s a tall order and a tough pick, but all of the Pick6 projections are tough this week. The equipment is equal in this era. Elite drivers are no longer top-five locks. However, this week is slightly different. The soft tire puts the race back in the driver’s hands. Veterans like Hamlin have decades of experience managing tire degradation. The younger stars do not have that tool in their toolbox. If this race comes down to racing and fluke cautions, then Hamlin is a favorite to win.

Once you finalize your Pick Set, choose your entry fee amount. Your entries will be automatically distributed into available contests, subject to your confirmation.

When the games go live, use the My Picks tab to follow your picks in real time to track how your players are performing against their projections and how they stack up against other users.
Compete for Prizes
Make enough correct picks and win a share of the contests’ guaranteed prizes. Any prizes won will be credited to your DraftKings account after contests are finalized.
