Shohei Ohtani Best Prop Bets for Dodgers vs. Tigers 3/28/25

After posting the first 50/50 campaign in MLB history, it has not taken long for Shohei Ohtani to get back into the groove of regular season baseball. In fact, across his first 14 plate appearances of 2025, Ohtani has managed a pair of home runs to go along with a .500 OBP and a .606 wOBA. In case you weren’t aware, the man is very good at baseball.

Here’s my top Shohei Ohtani prop bet on the DraftKings Sportsbook for tonight’s game against Detroit.

Shohei Ohtani Under 0.5 Hits (+175)

While it’s a little terrifying to take the under on any Ohtani prop, it’s not like the guy is going to get a hit in all 162 games. At least I don’t think so.

There’s nothing negative to say about Ohtani, it’s more a combination of matchup and really liking the +175 odds on this prop. Jack Flaherty was quite good in 2024. So good, he was a vital part of the Dodgers’ World Series victory. The rub with Flaherty has always been his fastball velocity. When it’s up, he’s amazing. When it’s down, he’s vulnerable. I’ll bank that the RHP has a lot in the tank this early in the season.

The other thing to note this evening is Flaherty’s splits. The right-hander was dominant versus LHBs last season, holding those within the split to a modest .215 average with a .264 wOBA. Flaherty’s .278 expected wOBA within the split also ranked among the best qualified starters in MLB. Ohtani isn’t your average left-handed bat, but he’s allowed to have an off night every now and then, right?
