The race to the bottom of the standings for increased lottery odds has been just as competitive as the competition at the top of the NBA standings. The Toronto Raptors have been at the heart of this and will continue this effort against the San Antonio Spurs. Immanuel Quickley and Jakob Poeltl will rest ahead of Sunday’s matchup, the Raptors have announced.

It should be noted this will be the first half of a back-to-back as Toronto will face the Washington Wizards on Monday.
In addition to Quickley and Poeltl being set to miss, Brandon Ingram and Gradey Dick will remain out. Ulrich Chomche has also been ruled out for the season with an MCL tear. Jared Rhoden will not be active as he will spend the night with the Raptors 905 in the G League. RJ Barrett is not mentioned on the injury report.
When he has been on the court, there have been some encouraging moments from Quickley this season. Across the 28 games he has played, the 25-year-old is averaging 17.3 points, 5.6 assists and 3.6 rebounds per game. After Sunday’s game, he will have missed four of his last eight games due to rest. In Quickley’s absence, expect Jamal Shead to lead the guard production for Toronto.
