In practice, Chastain was the fastest across many laps. He’s been fast in every Gen-7 race at Las Vegas, driving his Trackhouse Racing Chevy to finishes of seventh, fourth, fifth, 12th, second and third. This is a top-five driver. A top-five finish—without even needing a single fast lap—clears this number.

Face it—luck matters. It plays a significant role in both Fantasy NASCAR and real-life NASCAR. Denny Hamlin admitted as much earlier this week on his podcast. Most of the field has speed. What they lack is strategy, fast pit crews, consistent execution and luck. Hamlin doesn’t lack these seemingly peripheral factors—and they’re not peripheral. He isn’t flashy, but he was the highest-rated driver at intermediate tracks in 2024. He doesn’t dominate races, yet he’s always in contention at the end. That’s all this pick needs. Hamlin doesn’t need to lead—a sixth-place finish clears this number. And on the luck factor: Hamlin hit a slot machine jackpot on Friday and again on Saturday, racking up over $200,000 in winnings.

Create a Pick Set
Create a Pick Set by choosing at least two players from the same sport and Pick Group (a set of picks available from a group of set competitions). For each player, simply select if you think they’ll have more or less than their listed stat projection. In each Pick Set, you can not pick the same player twice and you must pick players from at least two different teams.
Enter an Amount
Once you finalize your Pick Set, choose your entry fee amount. Your entries will be automatically distributed into available contests, subject to your confirmation.
Sweat Your Picks
When the games go live, use the My Picks tab to follow your picks in real time to track how your players are performing against their projections and how they stack up against other users.
Compete for Prizes
Make enough correct picks and win a share of the contests’ guaranteed prizes. Any prizes won will be credited to your DraftKings account after contests are finalized.
