UPDATE: Ja Morant has been added to the injury report with a shoulder issue and is officially designated questionable.
One of the NBA’s sneaky contenders, the Memphis Grizzlies, take the court tonight against a division rival in what should be a fun duel between top point guards. Ja Morant squares off with De’Aaron Fox and the San Antonio Spurs at 8 p.m. EST.
Here’s the best player prop bets on DraftKings Sportsbook for Morant in tonight’s contest.
Best Ja Morant prop bets on DraftKings Sportsbook
Morant’s prop lines on DraftKings Sportsbook for tonight are listed at 23.5 points, 4.5 rebounds, and 7.5 assists. His PTS + REB + AST O/U is 35.5.
It’s been an interesting campaign for Morant, to say the least. The two-time All-Star has appeared in 37 of 59 possible contests for Memphis, posting 20.9 points, 7.4 assists, and 4.1 rebounds per game. His scoring output has regressed fairly drastically since his best seasons a couple of years ago — Morant’s 20.9 PPG is his lowest averaging since the second year of his career, while his 43.3% field goal percentage is a career-low.
With that said, there’s still value to be found in Morant’s prop markets. In five games since the All-Star break, the point guard has exceeded 23.5 points in two contests and came just one point shy of doing it for a third time. He put up at least 15 shots in all but one of those games, taking at least 22 in three of them, too. With this kind of shot volume, an uptick from his season-long average of 16.4 FGA per game, there could be value in taking the over on Morant’s 23.5 points line at +110 odds.
However, there is an alternative option that’s a bit safer. Morant’s PTS + AST over/under sits at 30.5 for tonight. He hit the over in his last three games and nearly did it in four-straight contests with 28 PTS + AST against Orlando on February 21. If he’s not scoring, Morant should remain involved as a facilitator in his role as the lead guard, so -115 odds to go over 30.5 PTS + AST isn’t a bad bet.
