The NBA season continues with 10 games taking place tonight. To start the night, tipping off at 7:00 p.m. ET, the Nuggets will take on the Pistons who have entered the conversation as a darkhorse threat in the Eastern Conference and enter on an eight-game winning streak. Three games will be tipping off at 7:30 p.m. ET, headlined by an Eastern Conference battle between the Celtics and Cavaliers.
An additional three games will begin at 8:00 p.m. ET with the Knicks and Grizzlies headlining. Tonight is expected to mark the return of Mitchell Robinson for the first time this season with the hopes he will provide a spark for this New York team. At 9:00 p.m. ET, the Pelicans and Suns will face off for the second consecutive night. Then, the Jazz and Timberwolves will face off before the Lakers and Clippers.
With plenty of NBA action ahead, here are my favorite prop bets for tonight’s slate.
Tobias Harris Over 15.5 Points (-110)
Detroit added Tobias Harris in the offseason with the hopes he would be the type of veteran presence needed to help this team leap into the contender category. This is shaping up exactly as designed, with Harris playing his best basketball of late.
On the season overall, Harris is averaging 13.8 points and 5.9 rebounds across his 32.1 minutes of play. However, he is averaging 17.7 points per game in February and shooting 57.8% from the floor this month. While Harris has struggled as a shooter this season, connecting on just 33.3% of his long-range shots, he has connected on two three-pointers in four of his past six games. He also has recorded over 15.5 points in seven of his last eight games and 11 of his past 13.
Tonight’s game will have an intense atmosphere as the Pistons look to cement themselves as a part of the contending conversation. The home Detroit crowd will be behind them and Harris also averages 3.2 more points per game at home this season. While the veteran was held to just seven points in 24 minutes in the road loss to Denver earlier this season, this was amid a tough stretch of play by him. Harris and the team have turned things around since this point and look for them to continue leaning on what has been working in recent games. 15.5 points is too low of a bar considering how Harris has been playing. The 32-year-old has also averaged more than this number in nine of the 14 seasons of his career and in 26 games this season. Count on the veteran to continue playing a notable role in the offense and record over 15.5 points again tonight.
Dyson Daniels Under 14.5 Points (-115)
The Hawks made a trade shortly before the season centered around DeJounte Murray that brought Dyson Daniels to Atlanta. The former eighth-overall pick in the 2022 draft has taken his game to new heights at his new destination building up a strong case for the Most Improved Player award.
Daniels is averaging 14.0 points, 5.6 rebounds, 4.0 assists, and a league-leading 3.4 steals per game this season. Each of these are career-highs for the Australian and he has played his way into a key role on this Hawks team. After shooting just 43.5% from the field and 31.2% from beyond the three-point arc across his two seasons with the Pelicans, Daniels has been a more effective shooter in Atlanta. He also is wrapping up arguably the best month of his NBA career averaging 16.5 points per game in February and shooting 52.4% from the field.
Unfortunately, the Hawks are set to face the Thunder tonight, a matchup I expect to bother Daniels. The Thunder are holding opponents to the second-fewest points per game on the season and the worst shooting percentage from the field and beyond the three-point arc. This will be the second matchup between these two teams with Daniels being held to just seven points on 27.3% shooting from the field in the previous game. Even with the increased scoring output this year, Daniels has been held to under 14.5 points in 30 of the 54 games. The 52.4% rate he has shot three-pointers at in February is unsustainable and expect Oklahoma City’s defense to prevent Daniels from having success tonight.
Tyler Herro Under 12.5 Assists & Rebounds (-125)
Miami continues to navigate its season outlook following the Jimmy Butler trade. One consistent bright spot this season has been the high level of play from Tyler Herro. The former Sixth Man of the Year earned his first All-Star appearance this season and is averaging 24.0 points, 5.7 assists, and 5.5 rebounds per game. Herro and the Heat will prepare to face off with the Pacers tonight, who have found their stride on the season.
While I wouldn’t argue against the outlook of his scoring potential, with his point prop line set at 25.5, the odds of him recording under 12.5 assists and rebounds feel especially favorable. Herro has been held below 12.5 combined assists and rebounds in 35 of the 55 games he has played this season. This includes six of his past seven games played and five of the six since Andrew Wiggins joined the Heat from that Butler trade.
The Pacers do a nice job controlling the game and playing at their tempo. Expect Herro to still make his impact felt in the scoring department, but for the 12.5 line to be lofty for his assists and rebounds. Herro also is averaging just 7.6 combined assists and rebounds in his 18 career games against the Pacers and has only eclipsed 12.5 combined stats once. Look for him to be comfortable playing within his role as a score-first talent and for other members of the Heat to supply the production of rebounding and playmaking. Count on Herro to be held to less than 12.5 assists and rebounds for the 36th game tonight.
Ivica Zubac Over 26.5 Points & Rebounds (-115)
The final matchup of tonight’s slate will be the battle of Los Angeles between the Lakers and Clippers. This will be the third matchup between these two teams this season but the first taking place on the Lakers’ home court. Keep an eye on the injury report leading up to this game as this is the second night of a back-to-back for the Lakers with the status’ of Luka Doncic and LeBron James uncertain. With or without the Lakers’ stars, look for Ivica Zubac to impose himself in this matchup. Interior defense is a significant weakness on this Lakers team since the trade.
In contrast, Zubac is in the midst of a career season. The 27-year-old is averaging a career-high 15.3 points and 12.5 rebounds across the opening 56 games he has played. Zubac has built impressive chemistry alongside James Harden who provides him with some of the easiest scoring opportunities of his career.
Zubac has recorded over 26.5 combined points and rebounds in 31 of the 56 games this season. This includes one of the two previous matchups with the Lakers. Zubac tallied 21 points and 19 rebounds in one game but was held to just eight points and 10 rebounds in the second game which resulted in a 25-point loss. With the Clippers having the rest advantage and the interior weakness of the Lakers noted, look for Zubac to impose himself and play a huge role in the Clippers’ production tonight. Expect Jaxson Hayes and Alex Len to have no answer for Zubac on the interior and for him to have no problem recording over 26.5 combined points and rebounds for the 32nd time this season.
