The Golden State Warriors are 2-0 since they made their big move at the trade deadline to acquire Jimmy Butler. The Warriors won each game by at least 14 points as well. Tonight, their road trip continues in Dallas to take on the Mavericks at 9:30 p.m. ET. The Mavs are 2-4 in their last six games and will be without their star big man Anthony Davis for the foreseeable future.
Since Butler joined the Dubs, we have seen a rejuvenated version of the six-time NBA All-Star. He averages 22.5 points, 5.5 rebounds, and five assists in his two games with the team. Here is my favorite prop for Butler against the Mavericks for tonight’s game.
Jimmy Butler over 19.5 points (-120)
Butler played 25 games this season for the Miami Heat before being suspended and later traded to the Warriors. But he didn’t look like himself; Butler averaged 17 points per contest, his lowest since his third season in the NBA. Butler seems excited to play and grow with his new teammates, and it helps that he plays alongside future Hall-of-Famer Steph Curry.
On DraftKings Sportsbook, you can get Butler over in points at 19.5 against the Mavericks, priced at -120. The Mavericks have struggled on defense lately. They have allowed 120 points in five of their last seven games. As Butler continues to gel with Golden State, he will only improve.
Butler has hit this scoring mark in four of the last seven games against Dallas. Butler scored 33 points in his previous contest against the Mavericks in November. A big part of Butler’s game in Golden State has been getting to the free throw line. He has made at least 11 foul shots with the team in his first two games.
