The Genesis Invitational Picks: PGA TOUR Golf Best Bets on DraftKings Sportsbook

Updated:

By: Landon Silinsky

The PGA TOUR heads back to California for The Genesis Invitational. However, instead of this event being played at Riviera Country Club like it usually is, it will instead be held at the South Course at Torrey Pines due to the wild fires in Los Angeles. Torrey measures as a monster 7,765-yard par 72 with Poa greens.

We have another Signature Event on the docket this week, so there will be a field of just 72 golfers, which will be cut down to the top-50 and ties, as well as anyone within 10 strokes of the leader after 36 holes.

Below I have outlined my two favorite bets for the week.

Will Zalatoris to win (+4500)

Willy Z is your prototypical major-championship type golfer, and the exact type of fit we are looking for at Torrey Pines. He thrives when scoring is down and you truly have to grind out all 72 holes. I bring this up because Torrey is going to play like a U.S. Open this week, as the course has been getting pounded with rain and the rough is incredibly thick. Double bogeys are going to be in play almost every hole, so it’s crucial we’re betting guys who can keep the ball in the fairway, hit their long irons well, and putt well on these Poa greens.

Zalatoris checks all three of those boxes, as he’s .42 strokes better per round on Poa compared to other surfaces for his career, while he’s always been one of the best longer approach players on the PGA TOUR. Don’t take my word for it, just go look at his career record in majors, where he’s posted seven top-10 finishes in what amounts to 3.5 full seasons as a professional.

The 28-year-old also has a pristine record at Torrey Pines in his career, having finished runner-up, T7 and T13 in three of his five career starts at the Farmers Insurance Open. Zalatoris was one of the most tipped golfers of the week at the Farmers a few weeks ago, but sadly withdrew before the tournament started.

Having shot 68 and 69 over his final two rounds in his last start at Pebble Beach, Zalatoris looks primed to give it a real run this week at one of his favorite tracks on the PGA TOUR circuit. He’s well worth backing at 45/1.

Keegan Bradley to win (+5500)

After getting snubbed for the 2023 Ryder Cup team, Bradley has been a man on a mission over the past 18 months. He won the BMW Championship this past August and posted a pair of runner-up finishes at last year’s Sony Open and Charles Schwab Challenge. He then opened 2025 with three consecutive top-15s as well, and now comes to a track that’s treated him well over the years. Bradley, like Zalatoris is made for golf courses like Torrey Pines, as he’s one of the best long-iron players in the sport, and absolutely can grind his tail off in tough conditions.

The results bare that out, because Bradley has three top-fives at the Farmers in nine starts this decade, including finishing T15 here just three weeks ago. Prior to last week’s poor result at Pebble Beach (a course he rarely plays), the 38-year-old had gained strokes both on approach and off the tee in each of his previous four starts dating back to the Hero World Challenge. Bradley’s price is also a bit disrespectful, as he has similar odds to win as Min Woo Lee, Benny An and Cameron Young, three guys who have never won on the PGA TOUR.

With brutal conditions expected this week, having Bradley on the card at 55/1 provides a semblance of safety, if such thing exists in golf betting.
