Report: Kellen Moore will be the Saints new head coach

UPDATE: As was highly speculated in recent weeks, Kellen Moore is finalizing a deal with New Orleans to become the franchise’s next head coach.

Philadelphia Eagles offensive coordinator Kellen Moore is reportedly expected to be the next New Orleans Saints head coach after the Super Bowl concludes.

Moore spent one season in Philadelphia after a one-year stint as the Los Angeles Chargers’ offensive coordinator. Prior to that, he was the Dallas Cowboys’ offensive coordinator for four years. This will be his first head coaching job of his NFL career.

The Saints are expected to hire Moore, who coached one of the best offenses in the NFL this season. The Eagles ranked top 10 in both points scored and yards gained.

New Orleans needed a replacement at head coach after firing Dennis Allen in November. Allen lost seven straight games after a 2-0 start. Darren Rizzi took over as the interim head coach for the remainder of the season.
