The Oklahoma City Thunder are set to face off with the Brooklyn tonight but will do so without Jalen Williams. After being listed as questionable with a hip strain for most of the day, Thunder head coach Mark Daigneault told reporters that Jalen Williams will miss the matchup.
On the bright side, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander will suit up after also being listed as questionable with his wrist strain. The MVP front-runner missed the last game against the Dallas Mavericks which marked the first game he missed all season. Oklahoma City suffered an eight-point loss which dropped their record to 34-7 on the season.
Tonight will mark the first game that Jalen Williams will miss all season. The Santa Clara product has played at an All-Star level all season and is averaging 20.6 points, 5.7 rebounds, and 5.2 assists while playing a key role in their defense. This does not seem to be an injury that holds long-term concern, but his status will be one to monitor moving forward.
Even without Williams on the floor, the Thunder enter tonight’s matchup against the 14-28 Nets as 17.5 favorites on DraftKings Sportsbook. Brooklyn holds +950 odds on the Moneyline for a victory and the game total is set at 217.5 for this matchup.
