Tyrese Haliburton injury update: January 16 vs. Pistons

Tyrese Haliburton ($8,400) only played 18 minutes on Sunday due to hamstring tightness. He missed Tuesday’s contest and there were concerns because he dealt with the same injury multiple times last season. Some optimism filtered into the picture, though, as the injury designation was changed from hamstring to groin strain.

On Wednesday, more positive news was dispersed as Haliburton was upgraded to questionable for Thursday’s game against Detroit Pistons.

Indiana plays on Thursday and Saturday, then won’t play again until the following Thursday.

On Tuesday with Haliburton out, Ben Sheppard ($3,700) received the start and played 32 minutes. T.J. McConnell ($4,500) played 21 minutes off the bench. McConnell contributed 25.25 FPTS while Sheppard finished with 17.75 FPTS. Sheppard is out there to space the floor while McConnell is more of the distributor. McConnell is the better fantasy asset due to his ability to contribute in more statistical categories.

Andrew Nembhard ($5,500) also benefitted from Haliburton’s absence, playing 33 minutes and finishing with 33.5 FPTS. Nembhard had been playing in the 28 to 31 minute range.
