Jalen Brunson injury update

Jalen Brunson injury update

Updated:

By: Sean Barnard

UPDATE: Jalen Brunson has returned to the games and checked back in with 3:34 left in the third quarter. There will surely be questions following the game, but there is no doubt about Brunson’s toughness and it is fair to assume the initial evaluation did not find anything serious.

Jalen Brunson left Sunday’s matchup as the New York Knicks faced the Milwaukee Bucks with what appeared to be a shoulder injury. He checked himself out of the matchup and walked immediately to the locker room.

Brunson was off to an excellent start to this game before the shoulder injury popped up. The All-Star guard had tallied 32 points, five assists, and four rebounds in just 19 minutes of play. Brunson was an impressive 11-18 from the field, 3-7 from beyond the three-point arc, and connected on all seven of his free throw attempts.

The Knicks have led by as many as 27 points at the point of writing this and with the game already in the second half it would not be a surprise if they are careful about putting Brunson back on the floor. His status will be one to monitor moving forward. If he misses time, it will be a major hit to this Knicks team. On the season Brunson is averaging 25.1 points, 7.5 assists, and 2.9 rebounds. He has been a driving force to the Knicks’ 25-14 start.

His status will be updated as more information becomes available.
