While Defense/special teams isn’t the flashiest fantasy position, it can sometimes be the difference between your week ending in a win or a loss. While there are no teams on a bye this week, there are still a couple of D/ST units that a worth taking a look at this week as a streaming option.
Here are the best fantasy D/ST streamers to consider for this week.
Fantasy football D/ST streamers for Week 8
Detroit Lions vs. Las Vegas Raiders
Rostership: ESPN 49%
The Lions defense just got torched by the Ravens for -7 fantasy points, but they get a great bounce-back opportunity this week against the Raiders. Even if Jimmy Garoppolo comes back this week I still like the Lions’ ability to generate turnovers and big plays on defense (the Raiders have allowed 16 sacks and lead the NFL with 12 turnovers).
Los Angeles Chargers vs. Chicago Bears
Rostership: ESPN 2.3%
I like the Chargers even if Justin Fields returns from injury. The Bears have given up 27 sacks, thrown seven interceptions, and only have two plays of 40 yards or more. Don’t let the 323 total yards last week fool you, the Bears offense isn’t scary.
New York Giants vs. New York Jets
Rostership: ESPN 21%
Big Blue’s defense unit should make its presence known in the battle of Metlife. After totaling -1 points over the first three weeks the Giants defense has woken up and is coming off its best performance of the season (six sacks and one interception). Their offense is still figuring things out which means the G-Men’s defense could end up spending a lot of time on the field, but they looked up to the task on Sunday.
