Kenneth Walker III (ankle) has been ruled out for Seattle’s Week 17 matchup with the Bears on Thursday night football. That clears the way for Zach Charbonnet ($12,600) to take over the backfield against Chicago.
This is an elite matchup, as the Bears rank 26th in the NFL in rush defense. From a fantasy perspective, Chicago ranks 28th against opposing running backs. This is a great opportunity for Charbonnet to make a case for himself as the best running back in Seattle.
The stats already suggest that he is, as his 4.3 yards per carry is much better than Walker’s 3.7. Walker has found himself in the endzone often this season but has struggled to make an impact on the rest of the field.
Walker III has already missed four games this season and in those games, he has taken advantage of his opportunity. Charbonnet is averaging 23.8 FPTS per game as the starting running back, while Walker III is averaging 16.7. This could be Charbonnet’s opportunity to take over the starting role permanently.
