The Philadelphia 76ers have won four of their previous six games. Most recently, they lost by 27 points on Saturday without Joel Embiid. But tonight, the Sixers get their star C back against the San Antonio Spurs at 7:00 p.m. ET.
Embiid has averaged 22.3 points, 7.3 rebounds, and 4.6 assists in seven games this season. But that doesn’t tell the entire story. He is heating up, scoring 30 or more points in three of his last four games. Here is my favorite prop bet for Joel Embiid against the Spurs tonight.
Joel Embiid over 30.5 points (-115)
As I mentioned, Embiid has been scoring at an elite rate lately. Since returning from a fractured sinus, he has scored 34 points on 50 percent shooting from the field, including two three-pointers. Tonight, against the Spurs, Embiid will play in his second game in the last four days. This is the first time in over a month that he has played in multiple games during that period.
When Embiid attempts 20 or more shots, he has scored more than 30 points this season. Embiid is -115 on DraftKings Sportsbook to score more than 30.5 points. Embiid typically has a size advantage over opponents, but that will not happen tonight. Spurs C Victor Wembanyama is 7’3″, three inches taller than Embiid.
However, the former NBA MVP has had tremendous success against Wemby. On January 22, 2024, Embiid dropped 70 points with 18 rebounds en route to a 133-123 Sixers win. Since then, Wembanyama has improved a ton, but Embiid still has a significant advantage in terms of experience. Considering how great Embiid looked in his first game back from injury, it is a great value play to get his points over tonight.
