Here are Taylor’s current prop bet odds at DraftKings Sportsbook: o/u 75.5 rushing yards, o/u 1.5 receptions and o/u 8.5 receiving yards. Taylor is +100 to score a touchdown, +600 to score 2+ touchdowns and +650 to score the first touchdown of the game.
Taylor and the Colts are in the thick of the AFC wildcard race. One of the teams that they are chasing is the Denver Broncos. The Broncos currently hold the final playoff spot at 8-5 while the Colts are the first team out at 6-7. A win over the Broncos would push Indianapolis to within a game of Denver in the race for that final playoff spot. So, there are massive implications for both teams in this matchup.
It has been a bit of an up-and-down season for Taylor. He had a bit of an injury issue which caused him to miss three games in the middle of the season. However, even when on the field, it has been a mixed bag both for Taylor individually and for the Colts as a team. The Colts have changed around quarterbacks between Joe Flacco and Anthony Richardson, which has also affected Taylor’s role. The Colts run a very different offense with Richardson than they did when Flacco was at the helm.
Over their last four games, which largely coincides with the return of Richardson, the Colts have become a much more run-heavy team and Taylor has had a bigger workload. He had 21 or more carries three times over that four-game stretch, including last week where he registered 96 rushing yards. He should get a big workload against the Broncos as well. Denver has the best-passing defense in the league by EPA/pass and will take away the deep shots that Richardson loves. Taylor should have another 20+ carry game and that should push him over his rushing prop of 75.5 yards.
