The halfback is having a great sophomore season with the Falcons. Robinson ranks sixth in the league in scrimmage yards this season and has not really had a true down week. Robinson struggled to find the end zone earlier in the season but over his past seven games, he has seven total touchdowns. There are a lot of weapons in this Atlanta offense but Robinson has completely taken over this backfield. He’s taken 59% of the Falcons’ carries this season compared to 40.9% of their carries last season.
The Vikings have one of the best defenses in the NFL this season. They are third in opponent points per play, second in defensive success rate and first in defensive EPA/play. They are tough to move the ball against, but once opposing teams get into the red zone, they have actually had a decent amount of success getting in the end zone. Opposing offenses are scoring touchdowns on 56.25% of their red zone trips against the Vikings, just the 18th-best mark in the NFL.
The Falcons are eighth in the league in offensive success rate and eighth in total offense. They should be able to move the ball down the field against the tough Vikings’ defense as well as anybody has this season. That will give them a few red-zone opportunities. The Vikings have been vulnerable in that area and that is when Bijan Robinson can be so dangerous. Robinson can run the ball or be used in the passing game inside the red zone. Robinson should be able to get a score in this game and make it eight touchdowns in his past eight games.
