NFL Week 13 is almost in the books, pending Monday night’s matchup, but the opening odds for Week 14 are up on DraftKings Sportsbook and it’s time to give a looky-loo.
No games in foreign lands. USA! USA! USA!
This is the last week for byes but there are six teams getting a break: BAL, DEN, HOU, IND, NEP and WAS.
The Thursday night game is a good NFC North battle, as the Green Bay Packers travel to Detroit. Is this the best division in football? DET has one loss, MIN has two and GB has three. This game has the highest total on the week at 51.
The early Sunday slate consists of seven games. There is one double-digit favorite and the smallest favorite is four points. There are three games with a total of at least 45 while there are two games with a total at 40 or below.
The late-afternoon slate consists of three games. There is one game within a field goal while the biggest favorite is six points. All of the games have a total of at least 44.
The night should be a good real-life game but the fantasy goodies could be lacking. We shall see. Both the Kansas City Chiefs and Los Angeles Chargers have been playing ball-control offense and catering to their defenses.
Monday Night Football looked mighty juicy prior to the start of the season but the Cowboys have fallen off like the Roman empire at the end. That said, there could plenty of points scored in this one.

Seems like only yesterday when the Lions were the laughingstock of the league, posting a defeated season in 2008. To be fair, they won only three games four seasons ago. Regardless, Detroit is one of the best teams in the league now. They are strong in the trenches and have playmakers galore. They have only one loss on the season, and that was back in Week 2. These teams met in Week 9, and the Lions took care of business, 24-14 in Green Bay.

The Raiders are in play for the top pick in the upcoming draft. The two wins are tied with the New York Giants and Jacksonville Jaguars. Tampa Bay has won two straight including an overtme victory against the Panthers. They have moved to 6-6 with the NFC South title in sights.

The cellar dwellers of the NFC South go head-to-head, with the Jaguars currently looking up to the Titans. Trevor Lawrence suffered a concussion at the end of the Week 13 game, so Mac Jones could get his third start of the season.

The Dolphins got squished and frozen in the tundra of Green Bay on Thursday, after running off three straight. They return to the friendly and warm confines of Miami in Week 14, hosting the New York Jets, a team that has lost three straight and has only three wins on the season.

Atlanta has lost three straight, as Kirk Cousins threw for 173 yards and an interception against the Denver Broncos then threw four picks in Week 13. Now he has to face a Vikings defense that is fifth in EPA per dropback and leads the league with 18 interceptions.

Over their last three games, New York has started Daniel Jones, Tommy DeVito and Drew Lock. Jones is no longer on the team and the Giants are in contention for the number one pick in the upcoming draft. The Saints won two straight prior to their bye week, but got humbled at home by the Rams in Week 13. Taysom Hill suffered a knee injury and could be out for this one.

The Eagles took care of business against the Baltimore Ravens in Week 13, grounding and pounding them into submission. Carolina has been playing competitively over the last four weeks, but they are overmatched in this one. That said, Philadelphia plays the Pittsburgh Steelers in Week 15 then the Washington Commanders in Week 16, so there’s a chance they look past the Panthers.

Pittsburgh is coming off an impressive 44-38 win over Cincinnati, as Russell Wilson was Mr. Incredible, going 29-of-38 for 414 yards, three touchdowns and an interception. Cleveland plays on Monday night. These teams met in Week 12, as Cleveland eeked out the 24-19 win in a wintery, snow-infested game.

A battle for NFC West supremacy, as the Seattle Seahawks sit atop the division with a 7-5 record while the Arizona Cardinals are right below at 6-6. The Cardinals have lost two straight and went to Seattle two weeks ago and lost 16-6. This one will be in Arizona.

Buffalo plays on Sunday night after coming out of its bye week. Prior to that, the Bills were humming, winning six straight and handing the Kansas City Chiefs their first loss of the season. The Rams are only one game short of the NFC West lead, but they have not fared well against good teams this season, and the Bills are one of the best.

The 49ers are playing the Bills in Buffalo on Sunday night. They get a reprieve in Week 14, as the Bears are in disarray, losing six straight and have replaced their head coach. San Francisco has dealt with bad injury luck and hasn’t played well, but it is still in play to win the NFC West crown.

This should be a good one, as both teams are well coached, stout in the trenches and rarely beat themselves. Kansas City has been pushing aside defeat in every possible way, until the Bills pushed through in Week 11. Since then, Kansas City has narrowly edged the Carolina Panthers and Las Vegas Raiders, two of the “not-so-good” teams in the league. But maybe they are just bored and are just playing with their food. The Chargers aren’t exciting, as they play an old school brand of football. This game may be fantasy bland, but could be a Picasso for the diehard fans.

Cincinnati may not be a good team, as it is 4-8 on the season, but no one can blame Joe Burrow and the offense. They have put up 41, 34, 27 and 38 points over the last four weeks while Burrow has thrown for 428, 356 and 309 yards against really good defenses in BAL, LAC and PIT. Too bad the Cowboys aren’t at full strength because this game could’ve been fantasy nirvana.
