UPDATE 2:18 p.m. ET: Trevor Lawrence will not return to Sunday’s game against the Texans. Mac Jones will stand in at quarterback for the remainder of the day.
In the middle of the second quarter of the Jaguars’ divisional home game against the Houston Texans, franchise QB Trevor Lawrence took a vicious hit from Texans LB Azeez Al-Shaair, who was penalized for unnecessary roughness on the play. Al-Shaair has been ejected.
The cart came out for Trevor Lawrence, who boarded its passenger seat under his own power. The cart went to the locker room, where Lawrence will presumably be evaluated.
