Ja’Marr Chase is having an incredible season for the Bengals. He leads the NFL in receiving yards and receiving touchdowns despite the Bengals’ poor record. This has been a trend every week, but this really seems like the Bengals’ last chance to make a postseason push. The Steelers will be one of the AFC Wildcard teams, so the Bengals could pick up a game on them here and start moving in the right direction. If they lose this game, their season is likely over. Joe Burrow should feed Chase, making sure he gets the ball to his most reliable target.
Chase has been fantastic all season but the past two weeks have been on another level. He’s combined for 18 catches for 339 yards and five touchdowns against the Chargers and the Ravens. Now he faces the Steelers which makes for a great matchup. The Steelers rank fifth in defensive EPA/dropback and the Bengals rank fifth in offensive EPA/dropback. It is a stalemate. Normally in those situations, a really special player like Chase can be the difference maker and break a couple of big plays.
It is really hard to bet against Ja’Marr Chase with the special season he has been having. It is more about finding the right way to back Chase. In this game, I am betting on Chase to score a touchdown and Chase to go over his longest reception prop of 25.5. Chase has seven touchdowns in his past five games and Burrow should continue to look to his most trusted target in the red zone. Chase has also cleared this longest reception prop in seven out of 11 games this season and, in a game where the Bengals will need to be aggressive, he should hit at least one deep shot.
