Is Trevor Lawrence playing in Week 13 vs. the Texans?

UPDATE: Lawrence ($5,400) is officially active for Sunday’s matchup with the Texans.

After missing the Jaguars’ past two games due to a shoulder injury, it appears that Trevor Lawrence will be back under center for the squad this weekend against the Texans, though he’s officially listed as questionable.

While Lawrence himself has had a relatively underwhelming year from a fantasy perspective — he’s averaging just 17.6 FPTS per start — the news is a massive sigh of relief for anyone hoping to get a Jacksonville skill-position player in their season-long lineups in Week 13.

The Jaguars’ offense could barely function with Mac Jones at quarterback, as the team produced a microscopic 6.5 points per contest with the former first-round pick taking the snaps. Brian Thomas Jr. was the most effected by this pivot swap, with the standout rookie having only registered a combined seven catches for 94 yards across Week 10 and Week 11. You can now once again start Thomas Jr. with confidence, especially in a matchup against a Texans secondary that is surrendering the 10th-most FPTS per game to opposing wideouts. Houston also allowed a whopping 9.5 yards per opponent pass attempt in Week 12 versus the lowly Titans.

In fact, with Trevor Lawrence expected back, you could even explore the possibility of Parker Washington in deeper formats or in DFS, as the sophomore should see all the snaps and routes he can handle with Gabe Davis (knee) placed on IR earlier in the week.

For the season, Lawrence has thrown for 2,004 yards and 11 touchdowns in nine games. He’s averaging 0.48 FPTS per drop back, which is good for 16th among all qualified QBs — tied with both Russell Wilson and Tua Tagovailoa. He’s not worth starting outside of a superflex format.
